20,000 HSAA health professionals to vote on a new contract with Alberta Health Services

Health Sciences Association of Alberta (HSAA) Vice-President and Bargaining Committee Chair, Leanne Alfaro announces members employed by Alberta Health Services (AHS) will vote on a tentative agreement.

EDMONTON – “After two years of pandemic-forced delays, months of bargaining and weeks of voluntary mediation, the HSAA bargaining team has reached a settlement with AHS that has been presented to members for their consideration.

“The tentative agreement includes pay increases and a bonus, more than 70 gains negotiated between the parties prior to mediation, and the removal of all rollbacks and concessions originally sought by AHS. The team unanimously decided to recommend this deal to the membership who will have an opportunity to vote on ratification.

“We will be spending the next few weeks engaging with our members about the tentative agreement. A vote on whether to accept it will be concluded by July 25, 2022.

“The bargaining team has done its job. Now, as always, it is up to members to make the final decision.”

HSAA is 28,000 health-care professionals dedicated to protecting the public health system and the vulnerable Albertans who rely on it.
