House Next Door Bargaining Update #1

Following the member survey this spring, we worked with your bargaining committee over the summer to develop the proposal package and confirm bargaining dates for this fall.

Where things stand

The proposals reflect the priorities members identified through the survey and have been informed by the frontline knowledge and experience of bargaining committee members Denise Brake, Residential Counsellor 2, House 5, and Paul Roche, Outreach Worker, House 2. Their input has helped ensure the proposals address the workplace issues that matter to members.

The proposal package is now complete and will be reviewed through HSAA’s approval process before bargaining begins.

Bargaining dates confirmed

We have also been working with your employer to confirm bargaining dates and the other details needed to begin negotiations.

Bargaining is scheduled for October 27, 28 and 30 and November 2, 3 and 4.

Having these dates grouped closely together will give both sides dedicated time to work through the proposals and make progress at the bargaining table.

Our goal is to make as much progress as possible during these six bargaining days and work toward reaching a tentative agreement. If more time is needed, we will work to schedule additional bargaining dates.

We will continue to keep you updated as bargaining moves forward.
