CBS Transport - Update on Collective Agreement Implementation

Following the recent arbitration award, we wanted to provide an update on the implementation progress of the 2021-2024 Collective Agreement which came into effect on August 21, 2026.

We have now met with the employer to discuss implementation of the award. While most of the previously agreed-upon items have already been implemented, there are still a few outstanding matters that the employer is working through.

Retroactive Pay

The employer is currently confirming payment dates for current employees for:

  • Any applicable retroactive wage adjustments; and
  • The 1% COVID Lump Sum payment (for hours worked between January 1, 2021, and December 31, 2021). Prorated where applicable*
  • Wellness Lump Sum. Prorated where applicable*

The employer has indicated that the tentative date for processing these payments is October 23, 2026, but it may take up to four pay periods. We will continue to monitor progress and provide further updates should this date change.

Retroactive Pay for Former Employees

Former employees must contact the employer to receive any retro pay. The employer will not contact them.

Former employees whose employment terminated between April 1, 2021, and March 31, 2024, may submit an email request for the retroactive payment of any increases they would have received but for the termination of employment.

Requests must be received by October 20; 60 days from ratification.

To submit a request, former employees must email HRR_AB@Blood.ca with the subject line “HSAA Transport 2021-23 GWI Retro and Lump Sums” and include the following information:

  • Employee Legal First and Last Name
  • Employee ID Number (if known)
  • Termination Date
  • Email address and Phone number (in case of follow up being required)
  • Updated address and/or banking information (if changed since you worked at CBS)

Payments will be made via direct deposit.
